I%26#039;m from Canada and you need to exchange your driver%26#039;s license from one province to another when changing residency. The stupid part is that you need to show 2 pieces of id for the original driver%26#039;s license and then again when you update for a different province. If you don%26#039;t have a second piece of id like a valid passport or citizenship card, you can%26#039;t get a driver%26#039;s license, or insure a car!
How stupid is that?!|||Here in the US, you have to change it from state to state if you are changing residency, and we have the same 2 ID issue, but we also have Social Security cards, so to get a new ID, all I would have to do is show them my old DL, and my SS card, and I would be done. Now states also vary as to whether or not you need to take a test or not when switching residency.|||A drivers license in the united states is valid in any state|||Yes you can drive anywhere in the country as long as you are visiting.
