I want to live at that hotel for 2 months while I look for a more permanent apartment in West Los Angeles. Does anyone know how safe the Homestead Hotel in Glendale, Calif. is? It's located on Glenoaks Blvd. It just started a new apartment program Oct. 2008 and has that changed the residency?
How safe is the Homestead Hotel - Glendale, Calif. on Glenoaks Avenue?
To answer your question, it's safe enough. Not a bad neighborhood, on the Glendale Burbank Border. Decent location in terms of getting to downtown LA, etc. Just go down Western to I-5, and join the throngs of other happy commuters.
You didn't mention where you are working. I hope it's not West LA, because it will be very difficult to get there. It would be much better to get a job downtown LA or in Burbank. You could just jump on the Metrolink train, which goes nearby. You can climb aboard in Glendale or Burbank.
You might find that you like that area better than West LA. It's certainly cheaper.
But yeah, it's pretty safe there. The hotel's pretty crummy, but it's safe.

I live relatively close to it. Do you want me to help you somehow?
If it's the one I am thinking of it is safe. That area is pretty good. BUT WLA is about 40 minute at least drive from there. Why would you want to commute that monsterous commute to look for a job?
Let me know if I can help you in anyway.
btw, just found out the sales tax is going up and will be 10 1/2 % in July of 2009.
