A little over a year ago I moved to another state and started working here. I had to file my taxes for my old state which is considered my permanent residency and the state I work in. How do I change my permanent address so I only have to file taxes in my current state. Contact IRS? My employer? USPS?
How to change my permanent address?
You get a driver license for your new state. You have your employer change your state withholding to the new state. And next year, you file a state income tax return for your new state. USPS has nothing to do with where your legal residence is.
