How do you transfer residency from one state to another?

Just moved from Nevada to Wisconsin. The DOT website says I need to be a resident in order to change my plates and license to WI, but how do I become a resident? Not doing it for tuition or anything; I am a soon-to-be working adult.

If it makes a difference, I was born in WI and my relatives still live here including parents and grandparents.

Then you are a Wisconsiner. Wear a cheesehead hat into the DMV along with a utility bill for your present address.

Do it.
How do you transfer residency from one state to another?
you need two proofs of residence: utility bill, employment stub (that would work..except you don't have a job...), phone bill: anything 'official' mailed to YOU at your present address (i.e, suzy wheaton from 3948 south 14th street minnesota isn't going to work.) your best bet is to go into the DMV and ask them what you need for sure. good luck! =D

(p.s. don't forget to go to the post office and get an official change of address form- it won't count towards your proof of residence or help you get a plate+liscence, but your mail will go there instead of nevada.) =]
