I'm a resident already but i got my ssn before getting my residency should i change my status?

the thing is that it says on the card %26quot;Valid for work Just with a permission to work card%26quot; or something. thanks...

If you are a Green Card holder, they will not change it yet. you still need to show your Green Card along with the SS card when applying for employment. Once you become a US Citizen you can go to a SS Adminstration office and ask them to remove the wording.

The above answer is actually wrong. A Green Card holder can get the %26quot;Valid for work%26quot; wording removed from their SSN card.

Not sure. Leaning to write great!!!! What did it take 20 illegal years in the US to learn it.
sorry, don't know the answer either, but wanted to give you thumbs up for doing things the right way. It's immigrants like you this country needs.
Nope that proviso stays on your SSN card until you become a full citizen.
